Leak to dry to treated, one company in Northfleet
Northfleet's housing runs from Victorian and Edwardian terraces around Rosherville and the old chalk quarry fringes to interwar and postwar semis on Perry Street and Coldharbour Road, plus newer flats at Springhead Park and Ebbsfleet Valley. Solid brick walls, a high local water table and mixed-age glazing all combine to give condensation and damp plenty of opportunity.

Common causes of mould in Northfleet homes
Solid-wall terraces and penetrating damp near the old riverside
Many of Northfleet's older terraces around Rosherville and the former cement works were built with solid brick walls and no cavity, and decades of ground movement from nearby chalk workings has left some pointing and rendering compromised. Rainwater tracks in through walls and old chimney breasts, and black mould develops on chimney stacks, external corners and skirtings long before residents notice the damp patch behind a wardrobe.
Condensation mould in postwar semis and council-built homes
Streets of postwar semis and terraces around Perry Street and Coldharbour Road were built with minimal insulation and small, often single-glazed windows that trap moisture indoors. Without adequate extraction, steam from cooking, bathing and drying laundry settles as condensation on cold external walls and window reveals, producing black spotting in bathrooms and bedrooms and mould growth behind beds, sofas and wardrobes pushed against outer walls.
Sealed newer flats at Ebbsfleet Valley and Springhead Park
The newer apartment blocks around Ebbsfleet Valley and Springhead Park are far more airtight than older housing, which helps with heating costs but traps humidity when trickle vents are shut or extractor fans are undersized for the room. Moisture collects around window frames and in corners with limited airflow, and once mould takes hold in these sealed spaces it tends to spread quickly along ceilings and behind fitted furniture.
What our customers say
Really impressed with the whole experience. The surveyor did a proper, thorough job and didn't rush anything, they got to the root cause of the damp and explained it all clearly. Detailed, professional and reassuring from start to finish. Couldn't recommend them more highly.
